Be a Private Eye, at 4:30 Portal

Those times again are:

Tuesday, 12 noon until 4pm

Thursday, 12 noon until 4pm

The camp that is

We are now listed as an official theme camp beginning with the letter D:

Thank you, mighty yet overworked Burning Man registrars.

What / where / when

There are two events for the Deus Ex Detective Agency:

Tuesday, Sept. 1, 12:00 noon – 4:00 pm

Thursday, Sept. 3, 12:00 noon – 4:00pm

Show up at our camp any time during these hours to receive the first clue for your exciting case. The clues will take you through the sandy underbelly of the City to solve the mysterious origins of Burning Man. Thursday is a repeat, encore performance, for those of you who missed Tuesday.

We hope to see you there and then!

Our event was submitted to the Playa Calendar here:

http://playaevents.burningman.com/brc/2009/playa_events/

and also to the Who / What / Where print edition. It is still pending moderation, along with our potentially awesome location, but we’ll keep you updated when we get final confirmation (as forecast by probabilistic future historians).

Dear Burning Man, please add us to your theme camps

Ideally, we would like to appear here, alongside other legitimate camps:

http://www.burningman.com/themecamps/09_camp_vill_d.html

We assure you, we are a real camp, and we will totally bring it to the playa. We regret that this website currently looks like ass, but at least it is better than the default Wordpress theme.

You can reach us at detective [at] local-box.org. Please don’t subscribe us to porn spam.

Ambience

Mornings are the worst, you imagine, if you were awake for
them. This city never sleeps, so the cases never show up before noon,
and they usually aren’t sober. That’s why a ready shot of whiskey can
put you in the right mood while waiting for the telephone to ring, if
you’ve paid the bill lately, or for a beautiful woman to walk through
the front door.
